The Patrick Leahy Farm to School Program
Supports projects connecting schools and communities with local food through gardens, field trips, and sourcing into Child Nutrition Programs. Grants can fund new or expanded initiatives to improve child health, nutrition, and local agriculture.
Amount: $100,000–$500,000 (up to $18M total)
Deadline: December 5, 2025 (awards June 2026)
Note: Vehicles cannot be purchased, but leasing or buying a Farmers’ Truck trailer is allowable.
Eligibility: State agencies, Tribes, nonprofits (501c3), CNP operators, local agencies, agricultural producers (most must apply as partners).
Best for: Organizations starting or expanding mobile markets tied to schools, with education and local food sourcing components.
