Short answer: Most programs stack two or more sources: grants, local sponsors, health partners and financing. Fund the vehicle and the first years of operations together. Start early, because grant decisions take months.
Very few programs pay for a mobile market from one source. Plan a funding stack, and start it at least six months before launch.
The main sources

Health partners. Nonprofit hospitals must invest in community health. Produce prescription and food as medicine programs can pay for stops or vouchers. How to work with health partners.
Local sponsors. Businesses, teams and community foundations can fund the truck, name the program or sponsor a stop.
Donations and campaigns. Many programs raise part of the truck from their community. It also builds your first customers.
Financing. Spread the vehicle cost over time through a credit partner. Lease to own is coming in 2027.
