Fresh Food on the Move: Community Action House Launches New Mobile Market
We’re thrilled to celebrate the incredible launch of Community Action House’s brand-new Food Club Mobile Market! Built with one of our custom Farmers’ Truck units, this initiative is a powerful step toward eliminating barriers to fresh, healthy food access across Michigan.
As Community Action House shared in their announcement, “15% of our neighbors who experience food insecurity are unable to utilize food services because they do not have transportation.” Their new mobile market directly tackles this issue—bringing fresh fruits, vegetables, and essential resources right into neighborhoods where people need it most.
“Being able to offer access to fresh fruit and vegetables in the neighborhoods where people live means more of our neighbors will be able to get the foods they want and need.” – Chara Bouma-Prediger, Director of Food Access Programs, Community Action House
From the beginning, our mission at Farmers’ Truck has been clear: help organizations deliver dignity and wellness through mobile markets. Seeing our trucks support this mission in communities like Holland, MI is what it’s all about. And this partnership, powered by a generous $300,000 grant from UnitedHealthcare, is proof that collaboration can spark real change.
“By ensuring individuals and families have access to nutritious food, we’re enabling them to live healthier lives.” – Dennis Mouras, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Michigan
As Community Action House gets ready to roll out their truck, they’re also bringing wraparound services. Services like nutrition education and resource navigation—directly into their community. That’s not just a truck. That’s transformation.
We’re proud to partner with this incredible team! And we’ll be cheering them on as they continue expanding fresh food access across Ottawa County.
Congratulations, Community Action House—and welcome to the road. 🚛🥕
